Where on the island?
Koh Mak is small, but the side you sleep on shapes the entire trip — distance to dinner, sunset views, and how much you'll need a scooter.
- Ao Kao
- More options, more social, easiest walk to restaurants and shops. Best for solo travellers, first-timers, and anyone who'd rather not rent a scooter.
- Ao Suan Yai
- Quieter and a touch more upscale, with the island's best sunsets. Some speedboats dock here. Ideal for couples and families.
- South / east coast
- Maximum seclusion. You'll need a scooter or rely on resort transport — plan to dine in-house, or ride out.
- Before you book
- Always double-check the beach location against the pier — not every resort is within walking distance of the restaurants.
